In the Czech Republic, government agencies and the Czech National Bank have been required since 2016 to accept electronic invoices as standard if contractors choose to issue them. Electronic invoices must be submitted in real time to the Czech tax authority for all cash transactions between taxpayers based in the Czech Republic and Czech customers.

E-invoices must be issued in XML format and validated by the Czech Tax Administration to guarantee their authenticity.
